Community Gatherings
Introducing a collection of occasional Friday night socials to get together, meet neighbours and explore new and old hobbies in a lovely community venue.
Join us for a fun and social Friday evening at Rainow Institute.
Get together with neighbours, friends and folks you've yet to meet, try something new, unlock your creative side, and share a drink or two. There’s no need to have any experience and we include a drink in the ticket price (wine, beer, or a lovely non-alc cocktail).
By hosting these gatherings, we hope to celebrate everything we love about our little village… the people, local creatives, community spirit and the village hall.
Come on your own, with a partner, friend or neighbour.
Blokes, this is for you too!

Paint & Plonk - 31 January 2025, 6 - 8pm
£30 a ticket (includes a drink)
Our first Paint & Plonk was such a success we've been asked to organise another... Join us for the last Friday in January! Local artist Michelle will introduce us to painting using a range of techniques including leaf printing & abstract background making, as well as the part with a paintbrush to create something with a local story.
The evening isn’t about creating a masterpiece, but about having a go at something new and having fun along the way whilst having a delicious drink or two with neighbours old and new.
Tom "the plonker" will be our friendly bar hand and ensure we drink top-notch beer, wine or non-alcoholic cocktails. Rach will host as she does, ensuring everybody feels part of our evening and has what they need to have a good time... She will also be a great example of how you don’t need to be any good at painting to take part!

Meet the hosts!

Our Hosts
We’ve lived in Rainow for five years and love feeling part of our community. We wanted to play our part and add to the social calendar with what we know best… bringing people together, encouraging creativity, and a glass of something delicious.

Michelle Shore
Our Paint & Plonk Expert
Our neighbour Michelle is an artist and art tutor. She enjoys working with narratives and is inspired by stories, myth, local folklore and the beauty of the inner magic of our natural world. Michelle inspires others with the message that it’s never too late to do something new.
