Community Gatherings
Introducing a collection of occasional Friday night socials to get together, meet neighbours and explore new and old hobbies in a lovely community venue.
Wander over to Rainow Institute and join us for a fun and social Friday evening.
Get together with neighbours, friends and folks you’ve yet to meet, try something new, unlock your creative side, and share a drink or two.
There’s no need to have any arts experience or skills and we include a drink in the ticket price (wine, beer, a lovely non-alc cocktail or soft drink).
By hosting these gatherings we celebrate everything we love about our village… the people, local creatives and makers, the community spirit and lovely village hall.
Come on your own, with a partner, friend or neighbour.
Blokes, this is for you too!
Paint & Plonk - 8 November 6.30pm - 8pm
£30 a ticket and includes a drink
Michelle will introduce us to painting and support us with something we can all have a go at.
The evening isn’t about creating a masterpiece, but about having a go at something new, and having fun along the way whilst having a delicious drink or two!
Tom "the plonker" will be our friendly bar hand and ensure we drink top-notch beer, wine or non-alcoholic cocktails. Rach will host as she does, ensuring everybody feels part of our evening and has what they need to have a good time... She will also be a great example of how you don’t need to be any good at painting to have fun and take part!
Sorry, Paint & Plonk isn’t for under 18s but our Wreath Making evening is for all ages.
Forage & Wreath - 29 November 6.00pm - 7.30pm
£25 a ticket and includes a drink
In the spirit of Christmas, we are hosting a second social this year. An opportunity to get together and learn how to create a willow wreath from scratch with willow branches and moss, local, foraged and sustainable finds. Have something lovely to hang on your front door and memories to match.
A chance to get together with neighbours, friends and folk you are yet to know and create something unique whilst sharing a glass of something mulled, brewed or sweetened on a wintery Friday evening. All ages are welcome to join us.
If you have a question about any of our socials, please get in touch.
Meet the hosts!

Our Hosts
We’ve lived in Rainow for five years and love feeling part of our community. We wanted to play our part and add to the social calendar with what we know best… bringing people together, encouraging creativity, and a glass of something delicious.
Michelle Shore
Our Paint & Plonk Expert
Our neighbour Michelle is an artist and art tutor. She enjoys working with narratives and is inspired by stories, myth, local folklore and the beauty of the inner magic of our natural world. Michelle inspires others with the message that it’s never too late to do something new.

Just down the road from the Robin Hood pub!!
Which incidentally is where we suggest we go after the event to continue the community spirit!
